Anyone who's owned a classic knows the drill: a folder of MOT certificates, a shoebox of receipts, photographs scattered across three phones and a dead laptop. The story of the car — the restoration, the shows, the miles, the wins — lives everywhere and nowhere. And when the car changes hands, most of it is simply lost.
Oncat is the one place that story lives, and keeps living. Everything an owner puts into a Jaguar — the care, the record, the pride — held together on a page that's actually worth showing off.
It's built by a Jaguar enthusiast, not a boardroom: an independent project, made for the people who actually love these cars. No faceless corporation, no feed engineered to keep you scrolling. Just the app the paddock deserves.
Four things we won't compromise on.
The clubs come first
We are not a club, and never will be. The clubs have carried the Jaguar world for generations — the magazines, the registers, the meets, the hard-won knowledge. Oncat is infrastructure under the scene, not a flag in it: every event we list credits and links back to the club it came from, and the tools we build for organisers are built with them, not against them.
Your car, your rules
Classic Jaguars are theft targets, so privacy isn't an upsell here — it's the default. Public pages are opt-in, with granular control to hide your location or mask your registration. Location data is stripped from every photo. Nothing about your car is public until you decide it is.
Real life, not a feed
No algorithm deciding what you see. No infinite scroll engineered to trap you. No app-minted points or vanity leaderboards. Kudos is a nod of appreciation, never a ranking — and every honour and result mirrors a real-world event, issued by real organisers.
The record survives the sale
A car's history, its honours and its story are the work of everyone who has cared for it, and that record stays with the car: when it's sold, the new keeper receives the documented history, and you keep your own copy of the years you looked after it.

“Are you oncat?”
Onca — as in Panthera onca, the jaguar. Run it together with cat and you get oncat: a name that's ours, that nods to the marque without borrowing it, and that carries across a noisy showground. The happy accident is that it also reads as on + cat — so give it a week and you'll be asking whether the car in the next row is oncat yet.
Oncat is an independent project and is not affiliated with Jaguar Land Rover. The word “Jaguar” is used only to describe the cars we love. We build alongside the clubs and the wider community — never against them.
