A 2.5 litre X-Type covering the miles again
Written from its record. Not yet told in Philip’s own words.
2004 to 2007
Its early years
This blue X-Type, with its 2.5 litre engine, was first registered in May 2004.
By its first MOT in May 2007 it had covered almost 31,000 miles, about 10,000 a year, a busy start for a Jaguar of its age.
2007 to 2024
Year after year
Through to 2012 it settled to about 4,000 miles a year, reaching almost 50,000. From 2014 its pace eased right down: between October 2014 and May 2024 it added only about 3,000 miles, a few hundred a year, including a two year rest between its tests in May 2022 and May 2024.
2024 to now
These days
Since 2024 it has been out and about again, adding around 10,000 miles in one year and almost 9,000 the next, much the pace of its early life. It passed its MOT in May 2026 at just over 78,000 miles and is set until May 2027.
