Throttle body elbow vacuum leak

A pig of a job, but it needed doing

26 April 2026 · Modification

After the brass quick-connect adapter for the vacuum pipe on the throttle body elbow had failed twice during my ownership, it was clear that a better solution was needed. Dad came up with the idea of fitting a threaded BSP connector instead, and I'm glad he did—it's a far more robust approach than what was there before.

Slotting the mounting bracket

Thankfully, my good friend Andy had already slotted the throttle body mounting bracket when we tackled the valley pipe work, so removal and fitting proved straightforward.
