Silverstone Track Day May 2026

Our second JEC TrackSport day took Enzo to Silverstone, with upgraded brakes, new tyres and Tracy getting behind the wheel.

Enzo takes on Silverstone

After our first JEC TrackSport day at Anglesey, it wasn't long before I was thinking about getting Enzo back out on track. This time, we were heading somewhere rather special: Silverstone.

Our day on track was booked for 12 May, but with an early start ahead of us, Tracy and I decided to travel down the day before and make a couple of nights of it.

We booked into Escapade at Silverstone for the 11th and 12th and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The accommodation had everything we needed, with the added bonus of a shared roof terrace overlooking the circuit.

There wasn't much happening on track when we arrived, but sitting up there looking across Silverstone certainly reminded us what we'd be doing the following morning.

The restaurant was excellent too and meant there was no need to venture anywhere else that evening. If you're planning a trip to Silverstone, we'd definitely recommend staying there.

Back on track with a few changes

Since Anglesey, Enzo had received a couple of carefully chosen upgrades.

The standard brakes had coped well with our first track day, but they were getting pretty hot as I started pushing harder. I'd since had Tarox discs, pads and brake fluid fitted, along with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres.

I wasn't trying to turn Enzo into a track car. I still wanted him to be just as enjoyable on the road, but Anglesey had shown me where a couple of changes could make a difference.

Silverstone was our first chance to find out if they had.

The difference was fantastic. The brakes and Michelin tyres were a big improvement and Enzo felt much better out on track. The upgrades had done exactly what I'd hoped they would.

Starting from the F1 garages

There's something about Silverstone that makes a track day here feel different.

It's one of the most famous circuits in motorsport and, even though we weren't there to break any lap records, driving out from the F1 garages in your own car gives the whole experience a real sense of occasion.

JEC TrackSport had organised the day brilliantly. Cones had been positioned around the circuit to show braking points and where to aim for through the corners, which was really useful when getting familiar with the track.

The weather was on our side too, giving us good conditions to enjoy the day properly.

Once we were out there, it was brilliant. Getting Enzo onto a circuit like Silverstone and driving along Hamilton Straight is one of those experiences that I'd wanted to have and it didn't disappoint.

Tracy takes the wheel

This was my second track day in Enzo, but there was another first to look forward to.

Tracy had always planned to drive at Silverstone. A track day is such a different experience from anything you can do on the road and it seemed a shame for her to come along and not have the chance to experience it from behind the wheel herself.

So we swapped seats, I climbed into the passenger side and Tracy headed out for her first laps on a circuit.

I loved being in the passenger seat and watching Tracy experience her first track day. She settled into it, got a few laps under her belt and, most importantly, absolutely loved it.

It was great fun sharing the experience from the other side of the car for a change. Judging by the smile afterwards, I don't think it'll be the last time Tracy gets behind the wheel on a circuit either.

More than just the driving

There was a really good turnout for the day, with all sorts of Jaguars filling the garages and surrounding area.

That's one of the things we've enjoyed about the JEC TrackSport events. When you're not driving, there's always someone to talk to, another car to have a look around or a conversation happening somewhere.

Everyone was chatting between sessions and there was a great atmosphere throughout the day. Combine that with being in the F1 garages at Silverstone and it was a pretty special place to spend the day.

Back to Escapade

After a full day at the circuit, we headed back to Escapade for our second night and another meal in the restaurant.

Having somewhere so close to the action worked brilliantly. There was no long drive home waiting for us at the end of the track day. We could simply park Enzo up, relax and enjoy the evening before heading home the following day.

Silverstone was one of those trips where everything just came together. Great weather, a fantastic circuit, Enzo performing brilliantly and Tracy getting to experience her first track day from behind the wheel.

Our first visit to Silverstone definitely won't be forgotten. Anglesey had shown me what I wanted to change on Enzo and Silverstone proved those changes had been worthwhile.

But more than anything, it was another chance to use the F-Type for exactly the sort of experience I bought it for.
