Slock mountain run

The trip

The Slock Run was the whole reason for buying the car, and what an amazing trip it turned out to be. We went with our close friends Andy and Hayley, and the whole thing was organised by Classic Car Tours.

The ferry crossing took us from Liverpool to Douglas, and on the way back we travelled from Douglas to Heysham. We were based at the Best Western Palace Hotel and Casino in Douglas—not the fanciest place, but the parking was excellent, which mattered more than we'd expected.

We had afternoon tea at Creg ny Baa, and signed the wall at Victory Café on Dunlop Corner. We visited the car museum, did a lap of the track with a photo shoot at the grandstand, and stopped at the Sound Café where we saw the seals. The guys from Classic Car Tours were excellent throughout—genuinely great people who knew how to make the whole experience work.

It was exactly what I'd hoped for when I decided to buy the car in the first place.
